Think Like There’s No One Looking

Wallace D. Wattles, author of the visionary book “The Science of Getting Rich”, was teaching about the tremendous power our thoughts have to create our reality long before the likes of popular self-help gurus like Anthony Robbins were born.

He was especially eloquent on the strength of mind and self-discipline it takes to think what you want to be true into being when all appearances would seem to contradict that reality. No matter what seems to be happening around you, your mind has the power to change it. It always IS your thought that counts.

According to Wattles, “To think what you want to think… is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances.

To think according to appearance is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is laborious, and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform.

There is no labor from which most people shrink as they do from that of sustained and consecutive thought; it is the hardest work in the world. This is especially true when truth is contrary to appearances.”

It’s inspiring to know you are the creator of your own reality. There’s no blaming other people or circumstances. You have the power within to apply yourself to that “labour.” As Wattles says,

“To think health when surrounded by the appearances of disease, or to think riches when in the midst of appearances of poverty, requires power; but he who acquires this power becomes a MASTER MIND. He can conquer fate; he can have what he wants.”
