Movin’ on Up….Or Out

Top leadership thinker, the great John C. Maxwell asserts that…

"A successful person finds the right place for himself. But a successful leader finds the right place for others.”

Even if that “right place” is in a totally different company than their current place of employment.

According to Maxwell, effective leaders realize that not everyone in their organization will have the ability or the inclination to be a productive member of the team.
He suggests that continually sizing up the bottom third of your producers is a way to maintain top performance of your people as a whole.
The choice is twofold; either move that lower end to a spot where they can readily join the top 2/3 of your organization or help them create a better work life for themselves by moving them totally out of your organization into one better suited to them.
The sooner the better, too, because, the longer these ill-suited, uninspired individuals remain a part of your team, the more damage they can do from within, and the less motivated they are to find another position outside your firm that is a better fit for their skills.

Be the leader you were meant to be.
Work with your low producers to either move ‘em up…
or move ‘em out.

Says Maxwell, …

“Leaders stretch with challenges. Followers struggle with challenges. Losers shrink from challenges."

You can do it.
