Team Bios

Raised in Afghanistan, Anisa Amiri moved to Canada with her husband, three children, her mom and brother in 2022. While earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Kabul, Anisa also worked for a non-profit human rights organization, first as a finance officer, and then as the financial manager.

Determination to succeed started when Anisa was young. “Because of our culture, I was not allowed to go to school. So, my mom taught me to read and write at home. Eventually, my father gave his permission. When I graduated from university with top honors, he told me how proud he was.”

With a diploma as an accounting and payroll administrator from Robertson College. Anisa completed her practicum at Preferred Client Services before being hired. “The payroll system in Afghanistan is completely different, so I needed to learn everything I could about Canadian taxes and processes.”

An avid learner, Anisa appreciates the opportunity to learn something new every day. She likes to work hard and pays great attention to every detail. “My long-term goal is to earn a CPA designation.”

At home, once homework is done, Anisa and her kids watch movies and play games. “My husband is studying for his doctorate in Boston right now. When he’s home, he helps a lot with the kids.”
