Not only does Kateryna Halaktionova really enjoy working with numbers, she also appreciates the insights she gains from analyzing financial data. Kateryna earned two Master’s degrees in Ukraine – one as a teacher of math and physics and one in accounting and audit.

Before moving to Canada with her husband and two daughters in 2022, she had worked for nine years, first as an accounting clerk and then an accountant for a government department.

Claiming she’s very picky, Kateryna has a keen eye for detail - nothing escapes her notice. A hard worker and a quick learner, she’s learned to handle multiple financial tasks efficiently.

The same energy and determination that she applies to her daily work is being applied to her English classes. “I didn’t know even one word of English before I came here.”

Away from work, Kateryna enjoys hiking and sports with her family. “Nature inspires me – particularly the wildlife. I love to go to Banff and Jasper.” To treat herself, she dreams of the ultimate luxury - spending a day at a spa.
