The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts, located at 9225 – 118 Avenue in Edmonton is an amazing and exceptional organization that provides support to people with some kind of developmental disability through art. Operating since 2003, it was in 2009 that they were able to move to a custom built facility, including 7,500 square feet of studio, gallery, and art preparation space where artists create original art by painting, drawing, dancing, molding clay, printing or exploring other types of art expression.
Having the opportunity and the means, these artists use different techniques and materials to reveal themselves. Colors, shapes, patterns and forms will come to live until the moment the artist considers the piece complete. Some of the art objects are exhibited or sold in Nina Haggerty Centre’s events.
“By viewing their art you complete the artistic process, connecting artist and audience. When you react to the art, or when you buy the art, you are validating the artist.” – The Nina’s website mentions. Preferred Client Services Group is one of the proud patrons of this institution. This year we are sponsoring Peter An, a South Korean artist and an expert reductive linocut printmaker. His beautiful prints “are multi-layered, detailed, and typically composed of fields of color dotted by floating shapes and objects.” His preferred topics include comic and video games characters, “fake food”, gemstones and magic.
On November 2, 2016, the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts (The Nina) will hold “Here’s Nina!”, its annual fundraising event. We are inviting you to join us for an entertaining and delicious evening presented by Josh Classen and Sheri Somerville. While supporting this amazing organization, you will be able to enjoy incredible performances from big name including Bryan Finlay, Colleen Rae, PJ Perry and Tommy Banks. CTV’s Graham Neil will host an auction, and you will have the chance to win a trip to a five-star resort in Honolulu!
We are looking forward to meeting you all there! Tickets are available here.
