Improved Productivity

Improved Skill Leads to Improved Productivity

All it takes is more training in an activity to increase your speed. More practice in the relevant process or program.

Typing, for instance, is a fundamental skill used in any kind of computer related activity. If your data clerks are entering information all day long, using only two fingers, obviously they’d be able to work faster if they were expert typists.

Or maybe your bookkeeper needs to upgrade her skills to become a power user of your accounting program.

Why not invest in training to improve employee keyboard dexterity? How long would it take for that typing course to recoup its value in increased workplace productivity?

Hire a professional to increase your staff’s familiarity with your current computer system, by showing them short cuts and setting up any repetitive entries as “memorized transactions.”

And remember, the best way to lead is by example.

What are your own business skills that need fine tuning?

Organizational training and development specialist, Brian Tracy, believes that:

“People who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their work and to their lives…will be the movers and shakers in our society for the indefinite future.”
