Who gets insured through your WCB account?

The simple answer is: all full-time, part-time, temporary and casual workers. However, you may not know that in addition, if you have sub-contractors working for you, they also must be insured under your account if they don’t have their own WCB coverage. Make that a requirement with subcontractors that to work for you, they must carry their own WCB. 

Any incidents filed by them through WCB go through your account and affect your experience rating.

If you’re the business owner, you are not covered unless you apply for optional insurance.

Be sure to have the proper forms completed and brief workers on all safety procedures before they start with you.
