Wow! That was fun! Preferred Client Services team participated at the Speed Leads, modeled after Speed Dating and organized by the Edmonton’s Chamber of Commerce on April 27, 2017. Participants were paired up. Then, everyone had 45 seconds to introduce themselves and their company, and another 45 seconds to listen to their partner. When the bell rang, then you got a new partner to chat with.

Speed Leads attendees had the opportunity to meet a lot of new faces from Edmonton’s business world and build on their network.

Here are some tips for future events like this:

• Drink lots of water before and bring your water bottle, because talking makes you thirsty.
• Be prepared with plenty of business cards.
• Bring a sharp mind and listen to what other people have to say; there is no time for taking notes.
• Rehearse your 45 seconds elevator pitch; it may determine the attention people put on your speech.
